LiDAR Equipped UAVs to Detect Unexploded Bombs in Laos

UAV operator Arch Aerial is planning to send LiDAR sensor equipped UAVs on a humanitarian mission in Laos to look for unexploded bombs from the Vietnam war.

The article is short on details, and scanning through dense jungle vegetation will block many surface returns if you have a flight path above the treeline, the plan according to Arch is to look for past signs of bombing activity like trenches and bunkers.
