International UAV Applications Outside the United States

The Prairie Business Magazine has a good article this week on UAV applications outside the United States.  Some applications by some companies are oil and gas surveying, plant germination seeds, palm tree moisture levels in palm oil plantations, 3D mapping of construction sites to monitor the building schedule.

While we do have test sites like in North Dakota for UAVs, research and development in the United States is lagging behind other parts of the world.  Only time will tell if the FAA will allow these types of flights in United States airspace.
