Grand Sky UAV Business Park in Grand Forks, North Dakota

The Grand Sky UAV Business Park outside Grand Forks, North Dakota (adjacent to the  Grand Forks AFB) is a 217 acre complex that is positioned to be one of the larger UAV hubs in the United States.  It is planned to have 1 million square feet of hangers, classrooms, warehouses, shops, and other support buildings.

The manager of the complex plans to push the FAA with flights to force a timeframe of approval of commercial flights, as of now it is slated for September 2015, but may not hold to that schedule.  Growth could be large, current estimates have a $91 Billion industry by 2020.  The article mentions that UAVs are “the new internet”, it may  not go that far but as I have written on just some markets and applications it can be a profitable business model.
