Future of Development in India

There is a push in India for more urban planning in their development of the country.  Union Minister of Urban Development, Housing & Poverty Alleviation and Parliamentary Affairs Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has said he wants to incorporate GIS more in planning, I would hope and expect that the Geomatics civil engineering side is also a survey and planning tool in the budget, it will be a small investment towards the future for detailed studies which are beyond urban planning to disaster planning and management.

Hexagon India also has a blog post from a week ago on the upcoming budget in India.  The full article is here and it has a detailed list all across India.  There are significant Infrastructure improvements and Smart City planning in the works.  India is a large country with a large population, I am not sure how much this will effect the overall country but it is progress towards the future.
