3D Modeling with Photogrammerty Techniques

There is a growing area of 3D Modeling using Photogrammerty techniques and not deriving models from LiDAR datasets.  The techniques use algorithms to take visual cues to create 3D models of ground objects.  Some techniques are more accurate than others.  When you get to the geomatics level you want highly accurate models.  Much of this of course comes from a proper instrument setup and project design before the sensors leave the ground (photogrammertic camera or LiDAR laser).

Some companies are saying they have highly accurate models using their photogrammtric techniques.  I cannot vouch for them on how they compare with models derived from LiDAR scans (aerial & ground).
