Ansys Simuation Software

I came across a article in the March 11-17 2013 edition of Bloomberg Businessweek on simulation with Ansys software.  Its current simulation market is towards mechanical engineering right now.  It already offers a focus on construction modeling which includes both blast, explosion & impact modeling and wind engineering.

The software run simulations on CAD models.  We can get surveyed CAD models from different levels of LiDAR scans (airborne, tripod, mobile).  That means more modeling on the meso to microscale meteorology scales if you can design a system that works with the current meteorological models out there.  If you ingest this system with the meteorological models in a big-data server farm setup you can improve disaster modeling by merging meteorological, engineering, GIS/Geomatics, and information technology backgrounds.  You can create a near real-time system of simulation with enough computer power and near current survey data like LiDAR.
