LiDAR & 3D Intelligent Objects

The latest post in LiDAR News by Gene Roe PhD is forward looking.  He says that LiDAR point clouds, even processed should be an intermediate step and LiDAR data should be processed to the next level to help create 3D intelligent objects (roads, buildings, etc…).

In the Emergency Services application, the more any government agency (any level) with private sector help, you can work towards a detailed model of areas/regions/inside buildings to work towards recreating the real world in Enterprise GIS/CAD systems.
